Location – Verrado is located within the City of Buckeye, north of Interstate 10 and south of Glendale Ave and about five miles west of Luke Air Force Base. 

History – Construction began on the 8,800 acre community in 2002.  Verrado celebrated its grand opening on January 24, 2004 and residents started moving into the newly constructed homes in the summer of 2004.  In fact, 237 families made Verrado their home in 2004.

Homes - Home designs are varied throughout the community.  From Row homes and lofts to single family and custom homes, Verrado has it all.  House styles include traditional craftsman, Western Farmhouse , Spanish Mission, and Ranch Hacienda.  Many homes include a front porch that reflects the small town charm of Verrado.  Within Verrado is also a 55+ community, Victory.

Amenities - Located in the foothills of the White Tank Mountains, Verrado is convenient to hiking and biking trails. Within the community is a Tom Lehman and John Fought designed championship golf course.  Most homes are located just a few blocks from a neighborhood park. There are a total of 66 parks located within the master planned community.  Heritage Swim Park offers residents a resort-style pool, wading pool with beach entry and splash pad. There is also a community center, The Center on Main, which provides a gathering place for activities and festivities. Main Street is Verrado’s downtown district which includes restaurants, cafes, and shops.

Schools - Verrado has educational opportunities for children aged six weeks to 18 years.  The Goddard school provides early development for pre-elementary age children.  Across the street is Verrado Elementary School, grades K-5th and has received “Excelling” ranking, the highest classification assigned by the Arizona Department of Education.  Verrado Heritage Elementary School serves preschool through 8th grade.  Verrado Middle School serves 6-8th grade and has also achieved an “Excelling” ranking.  Verrado High School provides a small-school environment by splitting students into four “houses” of 400 students.  The school was recognized as “Highly Performing”.  All schools are located within walking distance of most homes in the community.

Verrado cultivates active living by creating unique and outstanding opportunities for social and civic engagement.  Created with a sense of community in mind, Verrado provides residents the warm and inviting atmosphere of a small town. Front porches and community activities give neighbors plenty of occasions to be neighborly.
